• The promotion of the free exchange of knowledge with respect to diabetes and other allied metabolic disorders ;

• The improvement of the standards of treatment of diabetes, metabolic and allied endocrine disorders;

• The promotion of medical and other related scientific research as well as statistical and socioeconomic investigation pertaining to diabetes and metabolic disorders;

• The development of educational methods designed to give people with diabetes and metabolic disorders a better understanding of their disease;

• The education of the general public especially in the early recognition of diabetes and in the importance of medical supervision of its treatment;

• And any other activities that will result in enhancing the lives of people with diabetes, metabolic and endocrine diseases.

It is the AIM of the IDEA to take all such measures within its ability to achieve the above goals, and in particular to organize Congresses and Meetings pertaining to the scientific and medical aspects of diabetes, metabolic and endocrine disorders as well their social and economic impacts on public at large.
